"Sharjah Private Education" begins its field visits to schools within the "Itqan" program

The Sharjah Private Education Authority launched the first phase of the “Itqan” program, which will continue until next November, targeting 55 private schools, while the second phase will start from February to March, targeting 56 schools, after it concluded its training course on October 7 with the participation of nearly 100 assessors from Several different countries.

This came in the presence of the Chairman of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, Dr. Muhadtha Al Hashemi, the Director of the Continuous Improvement Department - Project Director Ziad Shatat, a number of directors of departments in the authority, principals and principals of the emirate's private schools and a group of evaluation and school improvement experts.

The visits, which were launched on the 17th of October, target 10 schools per week, while the evaluation will continue over four consecutive working days for each school separately, in which the six-person team will conduct class visits, review school documents and attend its activities, in addition to meeting with partners To analyze the results of the opinion polls that are sent to the parents of the students in the form of a questionnaire, and as a result, the school receives a report that defines its level, strengths and needs for improvement.

The "Itqan" program is considered one of the most prominent programs that aims to implement a comprehensive review of the quality of the performance of private schools in Sharjah, in accordance with the framework of approved school control and evaluation standards, in order to identify the aspects that need to improve and identify the necessary intervention plans, as a developmental tool, in which schools cooperate with the authority to create A quantum leap in educational outcomes.

The objectives of the program are based on identifying the aspects that need improvement, identifying training needs, and determining the extent of the impact achieved by the authority during the past three years, in addition to providing targeted feedback to schools, and celebrating high-performance schools in Sharjah.

The Chairperson of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, Dr. Muhadditha Al-Hashemi, confirmed that the authority seeks, through the Itqan program, to provide a development tool capable of serving the authority’s strategies and its relentless endeavors towards improving the performance, quality and efficiency of the educational system, which achieves the authority’s vision of “excellent education” in cooperation with private school administrations in Sharjah. Shatat stated that the program is proceeding according to the framework adopted in the country, the "School Review Framework", and is directly a collaborative process between the authority and schools, based on two main aspects: improvement and upgrading the level of educational services provided by schools through field visits to assessment teams with specific announced timetables, as well as On the classification of schools in a hexagonal manner, starting from very weak and ending with excellent, which contributes to helping parents to see the levels of services provided by schools to their children, and thus choose educational institutions according to a precise methodology that corresponds to their needs and requirements.
