The Senate adopted this Tuesday in first reading, the orientation and programming bill of the Ministry of the Interior, which provides for a financial effort of 15 billion euros for the next five years.

The senators also added to the text measures aimed at toughening the penalties for refusal to comply. 

The Senate, dominated by the right-wing opposition, adopted Tuesday at first reading, by 307 votes against 27, the orientation and programming bill of the Ministry of the Interior (Lopmi), which provides for a five-year financial outlay of 15 billion euros.

The senators added to the text of Gérald Darmanin, which will now go to the National Assembly, measures aimed at toughening the penalties incurred for refusal to comply, urban rodeos and violence against elected officials.
