Sharjah Municipality: 2440 new parking spaces since the beginning of the year and the closure of 53 distorted dirt yards

Sharjah City Municipality announced that 2440 parking lots have been subjected to fees since the beginning of this year in line with its continuous efforts to provide public parking services to residents and visitors in various areas of the city in light of the qualitative urban and population boom witnessed by the Emirate of Sharjah and as an ideal environment for the luxury of living and investment and a unique tourist destination. The municipality is working permanently and within its annual plans to expand the scope of its work in preparing public parking spaces and subjecting them to fees in all areas.



In this context, the Director of the Public Parking Department in the Sharjah Municipality, Hamed Al-Qaed, confirmed that the total number of public parking spaces in the city of Sharjah has reached about 57,000, subject to fees, which are monitored and supervised by the municipality through periodic and continuous inspection during working hours from eight in the morning until ten in the morning. In the evening, the inspection teams monitor any violations and ensure that these positions are not misused, such as standing without paying fees or booking more than one parking spot and other behaviors.

The commander stated that public parking enhances the civilized appearance of the emirate and the aesthetic face of each area, as it contributes to parking vehicles in an orderly manner. Vehicles, the vitality of the sector, and the quality of commercial and industrial establishments in the region. The Public Parking Department is also conducting a comprehensive survey of some vital areas in preparation for charging the parking lots, after working on equipping them according to the best standards and specifications in order to be used by the public and those who go to different areas permanently.

The Director of the Public Parking Department noted that the municipality has closed since the beginning of this year 53 dirt yards distorting the general appearance in a number of areas where there are sufficient regular parking spaces, so that no yard is closed until after making sure that there are a sufficient number of regular parking spaces such as paid public parking. and investment yards, then the municipality distributes awareness leaflets to vehicles in those yards stating that they must move within 3 days in preparation for closing the yard, noting that these yards distort the general appearance and practice negative behaviors such as random parking, dust and dust flying, and closing vehicles on each other, which hinders ease Movement, entry and exit.

Sharjah City Municipality urges the public to take care of the cleanliness of their vehicles and to stop them in regular parking spaces in the correct manner and not to misuse them in order for the public to benefit as much as possible from them when going to their various destinations and at all times.
