The chairman of the municipal board, Daniel Källenfors (M), explains that SD shares the Moderates' view on several political issues, including the budget.

- They demand the least political concessions, this was the way to get the most out of our and the Lidingö party's policies, says Daniel Källenfors (M).

The new bourgeois bloc between the Lidingö moderates and the Lidingö party means, among other things, that the number of municipal councilors will be reduced from four to two.

L and KD no longer included

The former cooperation parties Liberals and Christian Democrats lose their seats in the government.

What does the dialogue look like with them?

- We have a good dialogue with the Liberals and the Christian Democrats.

We will seek broad solutions with the other parties.

Our overall assessment is that this board provides the most moderate policy for Lidingö, answers Daniel Källenfors (M).

“Not interested in participating”

The old Lidingö Alliance in which the Liberals and the Christian Democrats participated is now a thing of the past.

Municipal councilor Carl-Johan Schiller (KD) had no intention of saying yes to the Lidingö moderates' tax cuts in the budget.

- This is the policy that Lidingö residents do not need.

If you want to have a better quality of care for the elderly and preschool, you cannot lower the tax further, explains Carl-Johan Schiller (KD).

The scenario leaves a bitter KD to go into opposition.

- It's boring.

There may be an opportunity to topple the government before the next election, concludes Carl-Johan Schiller (KD).

Previous conflict

Last spring there was a storm around the Lidingö moderates, something that SVT Stockholm reported on, after an internal quarrel broke out.

But now the situation has stabilized, according to a source within the party.
