A 26-year-old woman was indicted on Friday in Grenoble for the murder of her spouse and then imprisoned, the city prosecutor's office said.

Arrested on Wednesday and placed in police custody, the respondent "acknowledged the facts, but indicated that he had acted in self-defense, the thesis that the number of blows given [to the victim] and certain testimonies lead to invalidate", specified in a press release the public prosecutor Eric Vaillant.

On October 7, at the request of the brother of the deceased who had not heard from them for a few days, the gendarmes of the Meylan company opened a door in an apartment in Corenc (Isère).

Quickly suspected

On the spot, they discovered the corpse of a 35-year-old man, dead for several days with the trace of several stab wounds, some of which had been fatal.

The deceased's friend had been "quickly suspected" and sought until her arrest by the gendarmes of the Meylan research brigade, according to the same source.
