Kim Tae-hoon, a reporter specializing in defense, is here.

Q. What is the intention of North Korea's 'three-type complex provocation'?

[Kim Tae-hoon/Reporter for National Defense: The North Korean Air Force and Army Strategic Forces were mobilized and all provocations were done overnight in a period of a week or a month.

It's the first time it's happened, and it's unusual to fire a multiple rocket launcher in less than a day.

If you look closely, the pattern of South Korea and the United States responding to North Korean provocations is quite similar.

When North Korea fires long-range missiles, South Korea and the United States respond in a variety of ways by sorting out fighters or firing missiles and sometimes self-propelled artillery fire.

The US nuclear carrier conducted joint exercises twice in the East Sea, and then there was talk of relocating tactical nuclear weapons, so it can be interpreted as taking out fighters, missiles, and multiple rocket launchers all at once in the name of responding.]

Q. North Korea and US military training Did you know that you provoked me?

[Kim Tae-hoon/Reporter Kim Tae-hoon: Yesterday (13th), the US Forces Korea held a multiple rocket shooting training, but the US side did not inform it to the outside and because it was the US side's sole training, very few people in our military knew.

Also, the sound of the shooting was too far away to pass to North Korea.

This is the first time that North Korea has identified and mentioned such exercises, but our military has not yet come to a conclusion as to how North Korea knew it.]

Q. Can the existing defense system prevent North Korean provocations?

[Kim Tae-hoon/Reporter Kim Tae-hoon: The Korean-style three-axis system is a combination of the kill chain that North Korea hits first before firing, the South Korean missile defense system that intercepts incoming missiles, KAMD, and the KMPR that punishes and retaliates in large numbers against North Korea.

The military is judging that the missiles fired by North Korea from last month until early this morning are within the range that can be blocked by KAMD among the three-axis system.

On his way to work today, President Yun also said that the three-axis system is an effective defense system, saying that it is capable of detecting and intercepting the cruise missile newly launched by North Korea the day before.

However, as seen in the Hyeonmoo 2-C missile accident and the disappearance after the launch of Atacms, there remains a question as to whether our military response is as perfect as the announcement.]
