Now the Moderates, the Christian Democrats and the Liberals have agreed to govern the region with the support of the Sweden Democrats.

The Liberals, who previously announced that they do not want to govern with the SD, have thus swung on the issue.

- It is important to have a stable government when we have uncertain times, in that situation not ensuring a budget on time would be quite irresponsible.

Therefore, we have agreed on a board, and to do so we have also chosen to hold discussions with SD, said Carl Johan Sonesson (M) during Friday's press conference.

The Sweden Democrats say that they would have liked to sit on the board, but that the proposed arrangement is a good alternative.

- At the same time as we make this agreement, we exclude the remaining parties, says Niklas Nilsson (SD).

The center party is left out

In the most recent term, the Moderates have governed the region together with the Center Party, the Liberals and the Christian Democrats.

Now the bourgeois four-leaf clover needs to rule together with the Sweden Democrats or get their support to reach a majority.

However, this means that the Center Party is left out as they do not want to be part of a bourgeois government with the support of SD.

- We think it is sad that C is in opposition, but we keep the door open for the future, says Carl Johan Sonesson (M).
