Saleh Kebzabo took office this Wednesday noon as Prime Minister of the transition in Chad.
He was for a long time one of the main opponents of Idriss Déby, but he has worked extensively on the transition for 18 months, alongside the son of the former president, whose mission he will be to keep promises.

During his
investiture speech on Monday
, Mahamat Idriss Déby listed a long list of priorities: the referendum on the form of the state, the organization of future elections, but also socio-economic and security challenges, such as conflicts intercommunity, access to care, to drinking water, or even the fight against load shedding.
This "
electoral program
", as some opponents have called it, is now that of its Prime Minister.
However, Saleh Kebzabo, 75, warned: "
be careful, a transitional government is not a normal government that will take care of everything
", he said
yesterday morning on our antenna
.
"
We have a specific mission which is to bring this country to transparent, free, sincere elections
" at the end of the 24 months of transition.
For this, it will be necessary to go through several boxes, he acknowledged: ensuring peace, fighting against corruption, “
putting Chadians back to work
” and “
building the rule of law
”.
It will also be necessary to give pledges to the African Union, opposed to the eligibility of the leaders of the transition to future elections, sanctions are in theory possible against Chad.
Another point, which the transitional president did not mention in his speech, but which the Prime Minister slipped into his interview with RFI: the reform of the army, the security apparatus being largely in the hands of the caciques who accompanied Idriss Déby for thirty years.
