Tidal Wave Comics has released a new illustrated book that deals with the life of Queen Elizabeth, the longest reigning British monarch on the throne, and reviews her public and private life, major events, family scandals and crises.

Queen Elizabeth died on September 8 at the age of 96, and was buried next to her husband, Prince Philip, on September 19, a day when Britain and the world cast a farewell look at her in splendid displays of pomp and ceremonies.

The 30-page book begins with the royal beekeeper notifying the palace beehive of the queen's death, a tradition that has its roots in centuries and relates to a legend about honey production.

Co-author Michael Frizzell said in a statement: "I wanted to start small - talking about the legend of the bee, and end big - with the funeral, which was watched by millions around the world.

It was an appropriate way to portray her 70-year reign.”

Among the 2,000-strong farewell crowd at Westminster Abbey, where kings have been married, buried and crowned for the past 1,000 years, were some 500 presidents, prime ministers, foreign royals and dignitaries.

The book was released yesterday, and is also available digitally.
