After several years of planning work for a hotel in Österskans, the plans are now completely scrapped.

But the bill will still be six figures.

A total of almost nine million kroner has gone to the hotel, which is now not to be built.

- It is a relatively high cost for a detailed plan, says Olof Selldén, plan manager of Halmstad municipality.

Additional million costs

In addition to the costs directly related to the hotel, the municipality has also spent large sums on activating the area while waiting for construction.

A sum of SEK 1.1 million was spent on placing plants, furniture and painting the place.

Going forward, five million kroner has also been budgeted to equip the area by creating a green lane from Nissan up towards Österskans.
