asked all these questions to Guillaume Scheer, its chef and boss.

Nearly 900 reviews, including about 700 rating it “excellent” and only 16 rating the experience as average or worse.

On TripAdvisor, “Les Plaisirs Gourmands” is almost unanimous.

Better, the restaurant located in Schiltigheim, near Strasbourg, is even the "Travellers' Choice Best of the Best" of the famous platform.

That is, clearly, the French establishment which obtained the best evaluations from its customers, the 7th in the world.

"It doesn't happen every day to be rewarded", laughs its owner and chef Guillaume Scheer.

“This ranking shows that there is real customer satisfaction with us.

Of course, that gives us visibility because people often look at the notes before coming, but it also proves that what we're doing is going in the right direction.

Afterwards, for a cook, it's still not worth a Michelin star!

He also owns it, since 2021, about three years after the opening of "Plaisirs Gourmands" with his wife, Charlotte Gâté.

Nevertheless, the famous notes are regularly scrutinized on the platform.

"But we can't manage them, customers write what they want", nuance Guillaume Scheer who admits that his team "encourages people to leave a review when they tell us they had a great time".

Below these good comments, he almost never responds.

But for the most critical… “I do it because I know they will be read too.

Sometimes, the reactions are abusive so it must also be pointed out.

But we're not crazy, we know very well that potential customers will do their own sorting before coming.

Epicureans flock to his cuisine "classic in its conception but with a touch of originality in its presentation".

Each month, the Schilikois restaurant serves around “1,000 people”, at the rate of around thirty per service, for a dozen accessible tables.

All in four days.

This pace of work is one of the other great prides of the chef who spent time at the Pavillon Ledoyen (Paris) under the orders of Christian Le Squer and at the gastronomic "Le 1741" in Strasbourg.

“We are closed on Sundays, Monday and Tuesday.

This was not the case at the beginning but each time we were a little more profitable, we wanted to improve the comfort of life”, adds Guillaume Scheer, now at the head of a team of 13 employees.

Who could soon be greeted with a second star to display on their storefront?

“I don't race.

The restaurant is full every day, that's fine with me.

And generally, customers come out delighted.
