"First of all, the visit is aimed at showing Russia's support for our compatriot," Antonov was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
According to him, the American side has created all the necessary conditions for the meeting.
He added that Bout is in good physical and mental condition.
On August 17, Antonov said that Moscow was doing everything possible for the speedy return of Russian businessman Viktor Bout to his homeland.
