Suspicions of gross sabotage have been strengthened after Säpo carried out a crime scene investigation where detonations could be ascertained at Nord Stream 1 and 2.

Russian authorities have denied that they are behind it.

On several occasions, Russia has instead directed various accusations due to the sabotage, against the "Kyiv regime", against the United States and Joe Biden, and in a post that was posted on a number of social media platforms during Tuesday, against NATO.

Not a NATO craft

The post refers to "a well-known case" in 2015, and shares images that are said to have been taken in 2015. The images show an alleged NATO craft that was allegedly found at the gas pipeline, and claim that the Swedish Armed Forces removed an explosive device from the site.

The Russian post went viral, and the claim about the NATO craft has been picked up by other social media users.

"NATO was caught red-handed," claims one user on Twitter, after the Russian accusations spread on social media.

SVT Nyheter wrote about the case in 2015, and reported on the Armed Forces' analysis, which showed that it was

not

a NATO vessel but that the suspected underwater vehicle was Swedish - and the defence's own.

In the video above, we hear from the Swedish Armed Forces and explain the background to the Russian claim.
