Yesterday's adversaries can be today's allies.

Evidenced by the appointment in Chad to the post of Prime Minister of the historic opponent Saleh Kebzabo.

After the end of the Inclusive National Dialogue and the inauguration of the transitional president, it was necessary to appoint a Prime Minister and it was on an old hand in Chadian politics that Mahamat Idriss Déby made his choice.

Saleh Kebzabo is one of the first supporters of Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno.

On the death of Idriss Déby Itno in April 2021, when the army announced the establishment of a transitional military council, the president of the National Union for Democracy and Renewal announced that he supported the new regime and will accompany the transition.

A choice variously appreciated even in his own camp.

But the old fox, who has been in politics under all regimes since independence, does not change course.

He sends his militants to the government and, from good sources, he had become in recent months one of the main advisers to the transitional president.

Appointed vice-president of the dialogue's organizing committee, he spent five months in Doha to negotiate the participation of the rebels in the inclusive and sovereign National Dialogue during which he was one of the great defenders of politico-military movements.

Ironically, this Wednesday afternoon, it was Gali Ngothé Gatta, one of those who criticized him 18 months ago when he decided to support the transition regime and who has just been appointed Secretary General of the Presidency who read the decree appointing him Prime Minister.

The new Minister of State, Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Gali Ngothé Gatta took office this afternoon, at the Presidential Palace.

It was installed by the Director of the Civil Cabinet of the Head of State, Mr. Mahamat Hamid Koua.
