His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, affirmed the UAE's endeavor to contribute to strengthening the foundations of peace and stability in the world, working to reduce tensions and finding diplomatic solutions to crises.

This came when President Vladimir Putin, President of the friendly Federal Republic of Russia, received His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, yesterday, in Saint Petersburg.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said in a tweet on Twitter: "I met Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg. We discussed a number of issues and developments of common concern, foremost of which are the developments of the Ukrainian crisis, and the importance of supporting diplomatic efforts that serve all parties and achieve peace and stability in the world.

At the beginning of the bilateral meeting, the Russian President welcomed His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and they discussed various aspects of UAE-Russian relations.
