In Italy, from January to October 2021, over 476,000 new zero- or low-emission vehicles

were registered

, equal to

38% of the cars sold in total

.

A promising growth, considering that 12 months ago there were less than 600,000 electric and hybrid cars on Italian roads.

This is what the official data, elaborated by

Anfia

, the national association of the automotive industry supply chain, say: the year that is about to end, therefore, despite having confirmed the unfavorable forecasts on a crisis in the car market still far from ending , offers good prospects for the electric and hybrid sector.

By comparing the data of Anfia with those of the ACI, we see how at the beginning of the year the electric and hybrid cars registered in the registers of the motorization were 595,807, that is to say 1.50% of the total.

Hybrid vehicles (542,728) led the ranking, while electric ones were just 53,079.

Breaking down the data and looking at the situation in the individual regions, Lombardy, Trentino-Alto Adige and Emilia-Romagna record the greatest “green penetration”;

in the South, on the other hand, there is less diffusion, especially in Campania, Calabria and Sicily.

The growing attention of Italians towards green vehicles is also confirmed by the survey commissioned by

Facile.it

and

MiaCar.it

to the mUp Research and Norstat institutes, which showed that

almost 7 out of 10 motorists would buy an electric or hybrid car

(67 , 7%);

more specifically, 45.1% would opt for a hybrid and 22.6% for an electric one.

According to the survey,

young people are

more likely

to buy these cars

aged between 18 and 24 (79.6%) and motorists residing in the North West regions (69.9%).

Among those against (11%), it emerges that the percentage is higher among men (13.5%), those aged between 35 and 44 years (13.6%) and residents of the North East (13, 4%).

Still many undecided

, more than one in 5 motorists (21.3%).

Among the reasons indicated by those who are in favor of buying an ecological car, there is the desire to contribute to the reduction of pollution, fuel savings, the possibility of accessing restricted traffic areas, as happens in some cities .

The survey also highlighted the reasons why more than 11 million Italians are still opposed to electric or hybrid cars: first of all the price, then the low number of charging points in the area, and finally the low range of travel.
