Two police officers were indicted in September and October for willful violence and placed under judicial supervision after seriously injuring a driver and his passenger in Stains on August 16, 2021, the Bobigny prosecutor's office told AFP on Friday, confirming information from the Bondy Blog.

Indicted for "willful violence resulting in an ITT (total incapacity for work) of more than eight days by a person holding public authority and with the use of their service weapon", the two agents of the anti-crime brigade (BAC ) from Stains in Seine-Saint-Denis, aged 28 and 31, have, pending the outcome of the legal proceedings, a ban on professional activity on the public highway and on carrying or possessing a weapon, added the wooden floor.

The indictments took place on September 8 and October 3, the source also said.

A stormy intervention mid-August 2021

The rebound comes more than a year after the stormy intervention on the night of August 15 to 16, 2021 around 1:30 a.m., from which the two occupants of the vehicle had escaped.

The two police officers had tried to control the car on the boulevard Maxime Gorki in Stains, but the vehicle, first immobilized near the police, had reversed and started to roll again, explained a close source. of the investigation at the material time.

A video from the "Echo of the suburbs" media, massively shared on social networks, shows the two police officers firing several times in the direction of the car.

The driver had received several bullets in the chest, arm and pubis, while the passenger and companion, lying on the back seat, had been seriously injured in the back.

Driver sentenced to two years in prison

Also prosecuted for "refusal to comply" and "violence with a weapon", in this case his car, the 37-year-old driver was sentenced in February to two years in prison by the Bobigny court.

He appealed this decision and will be tried again at the Paris Court of Appeal on Tuesday.
