According to UN Secretary General Stefan Dujarric's spokesman, António Guterres' team is working to expand the Black Sea initiative and remove obstacles to the export of Russian grain and fertilizers.

"Rebeca Greenspan and Martin Griffiths are expected to travel to Moscow in about a week to meet with senior Russian officials to discuss these issues," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow expects the UN to make efforts to lift Western sanctions on fertilizers and grain.

Prior to this, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the West is responsible for the deterioration of the food situation in the world.

According to him, the supply of Russian grain and fertilizers to other countries is still hampered by sanctions.
