She and her twin sister Mahsa are two of the over 5,000 people in Uppsala municipality with roots in Iran.

They moved to Sweden three years ago, and when SVT meets the sisters at Fyrisskolan in Uppsala, they talk about their upbringing.

- Even girls who go to kindergarten must wear a hijab.

It was very difficult, we didn't feel comfortable with it, says Mahsa.

"It makes me sad"

Another person strongly affected by the recent weeks' protests in Iran is student Sara Vadeghani, 23. She has relatives still living in Iran.

- If my father had not fled to Sweden, how would that have affected my circumstances?

What would my life have been like?

It makes me sad that young women and men have to risk their lives, she says.
