In Thailand, after the members of the government, it was the king himself who came to pay homage to the victims of the massacre of Thursday October 6 in a nativity scene.

Thirty-eight people died, including 24 children between the ages of two and four.

The sovereign and the queen went to the hospital, where the survivors are hospitalized, in Nong Bua Lamphu in the north of the country.

It is an exceptional appearance.

Unlike his father who multiplied field visits, King Rama X very rarely travels to the provinces of his kingdom.

His presence marks the solemnity of the event and the national character of the shock suffered by the Thais after the unthinkable,

a mass killing of very young children, by a former policeman.

This Friday, the flags were at half mast throughout the kingdom.

The sovereign, dressed like the queen in a civilian outfit in the colors of state officials, spoke privately with the families of the young victims.

Earlier in the day, images showing state officials setting up a red carpet to lead to the nursery where the children were killed, in order to receive government figures, caused a stir.

The rug was hastily removed.

The Prime Minister went there in the afternoon, as well as the Minister of Health, an important figure in Thai political news.
