Södertälje has suffered five shootings in two weeks - and the third with a fatal outcome in one week.

The city has been shaken and 17-year-old Södertälje resident Rose Ayyad has barely left her home in five days.

- Everyone is terrified.

There are a lot of my friends who haven't dared to go out, she says.

Petra Jacob runs a non-profit association with activities in socio-economically vulnerable neighborhoods in Södertälje.

She describes an area that resembles a war zone.

- There is a lot of concern and sadness.

The atmosphere is black and there are flashes of lightning to the right and left.

Petra Jacob wants to see more preventive work to catch young people on their way to crime.

- We have to be there and catch them early with good role models.

Right now, their role model is possibly a criminal.
