The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded on Friday to a trio of representatives of civil societies in Eastern Europe, the Belarusian activist Ales Beliatski, the Russian NGO Memorial and the Ukrainian Center for Civil Liberties, a highly symbolic prize in the midst of the war in Ukraine.

After the Nobel Prize for Literature awarded this Thursday to the French Annie Ernaux, it is the turn of the prestigious Nobel Prize to be awarded.

In the context of the war in Ukraine, which marked the year 2022, it was awarded to Belarusian Ales Bialiatski, the Russian NGO Memorial and the Ukrainian CCL, a center for the protection of human rights.
