On October 12, the President of the Republic will be questioned on "international issues", the public group said in a press release.

On October 26, the questions will focus more on "the major issues of domestic policy".

Presented by Caroline Roux, "The Event" is France 2's new political program, after "The Political Program", "You have the floor" or "Elysée 2022" in recent years.

Caroline Roux replaces Léa Salamé.

"Each interview will be followed by a set hosted by Caroline Roux to deepen, decipher and analyze the topics raised with guests, news actors and experts," said France Télévisions in a press release.

This double speech by Mr. Macron comes as the executive faces a delicate return to school with the consequences of the war in Ukraine, in particular the energy crisis, which prompted him to present an energy sobriety plan on Thursday.

Emmanuel Macron will no doubt also be questioned about the reforms undertaken by the government, such as those of pensions and unemployment insurance when he does not have an absolute majority in the National Assembly.

The president had already been questioned by Caroline Roux, with Anne-Claire Coudray (TF1), on July 14, an interview which had gathered 6.7 million viewers.
