“The enemy was thrown back to their original positions”: the Russian Defense Ministry announced the repulsion of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Nikolaev-Kryvyi Rih direction

Russian troops repelled attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to advance in the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog direction, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

As the official representative of the department, Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov, noted during a briefing on October 7, the enemy tried to conduct an offensive with forces of up to five battalion tactical groups in the direction of a number of settlements in the Kherson and Nikolaev regions.

“By decisive actions of the Russian troops, all attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries were repelled.

The enemy has been thrown back to their original positions," Konashenkov said.

In particular, during the fighting in the area of ​​​​the settlement of Pyatikhatki, Kherson region, the company tactical group of the 60th infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was defeated.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, in total, more than 300 Ukrainian servicemen were liquidated in the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog direction per day, seven tanks, 13 armored combat vehicles and 17 vehicles were destroyed.

The department also spoke about the unsuccessful attempt of the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kupyansk direction.

The enemy attacked with the forces of two reinforced battalions, but the Russian troops repulsed the attack.

“More than 80 servicemen of the Ukrainian armed forces, five tanks, four infantry fighting vehicles, ten vehicles, as well as a German self-propelled artillery mount with high-precision ammunition were destroyed,” the Ministry of Defense said.

In addition, in the Krasnolimansky direction, when Russian troops tried to cross the Zherebets River, more than 30 Ukrainian servicemen were liquidated, two infantry fighting vehicles, five armored vehicles and five pickup trucks were destroyed.

The enemy advance in this direction has been thwarted.

In turn, the Russian Aerospace Forces attacked the points of temporary deployment of the 25th airborne and 79th airborne assault brigades in the areas of Seversk and Slavyansk (DPR), as well as the 30th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kurdyumovka region (DPR).

As a result of this work, more than 100 Ukrainian servicemen were liquidated, 12 units of military equipment were destroyed.

In addition, a high-precision strike by the Russian Aerospace Forces in the Khmelnytsky region destroyed the workshops for the repair of rocket and artillery weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the Shepetovsky repair plant. 

Aviation, missile forces and artillery hit six command posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 53 artillery units in firing positions, as well as manpower and military equipment in 162 districts.

Along with this, two depots of ammunition and rocket and artillery weapons of the 56th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed near the city of Zaporozhye.

In the Dzerzhinsk region (DPR), a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force was shot down by means of air defense.

In addition, four drones were destroyed in the Kharkiv and Zaporozhye regions, as well as in the DPR.

In the Kherson region, 21 shells of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) HIMARS and Alder were shot down in the air.

The Russian military also shot down four HARM anti-radar missiles in the areas of Novaya Kakhovka and Antonovsky Bridge.

The work of the National Guard in the LPR

The press service of the Russian Guard stated that in September, the special forces of the department detained in the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) three servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and more than 20 people involved in the activities of nationalist organizations.

In addition, in the course of special targeted and reconnaissance and search activities, the National Guard found and seized about 50 anti-tank guided missile systems, 100 grenade launchers and 5,000 rounds for them.

In September, 570 small arms, more than 385,000 rounds of ammunition, 300 rockets, 15,500 artillery ammunition, 400 mines and 1,800 hand grenades were seized.

Engineering and sapper units neutralized ten improvised explosive devices.

In addition, the servicemen of the Russian Guard held a humanitarian action in the city of Stakhanov (LPR), distributing 200 kg of food packages and drinking water to local residents.

It is noted that for people with health problems, food packages were delivered to their place of residence.
