A few dozen women challenged the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, staging a protest in Kabul asking for "bread, work and freedom" and demanding the right to education for women.

This is confirmed by journalistic sources on the spot.

"Education is my right. Reopen the schools", marked the demonstrators, many with their faces covered, as required by the recent provisions of the fundamentalists who returned to power last August.

The demonstrators marched for a few hundred meters before dispersing.

Taliban militiamen in civilian clothes have confiscated their mobile phones to prevent resuming the protest.
