According to Ukrainian media reports, three people were killed in a rocket attack on the city of Zaporizhia on Thursday.

The Ukrainian army announced that the city had been attacked with seven rockets, one of which hit a tenement house.

Meanwhile, the already badly damaged Antonivka Bridge over the Dnipro River was apparently fired again with rockets from Ukraine.

Should Russian troops retreat further west of the city of Kherson and lose control of the Nova Kakhovka dam, this bridge would be the last remaining fixed link allowing Russian troops to retreat into Russian-controlled territory south-east of the Dnipro.

Meanwhile, graves with more than 50 civilians have been found in the city of Lyman, recently recaptured by the Ukrainian army, according to Ukrainian media.

"The Russians dug trenches and forced people they suspected of collaborating with the Ukrainian military to collect the bodies of the dead for reburial," wrote Ukrainian media outlet Hromadske.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to regulate the “transfer” of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant “to Russian ownership”.

It is in one of the four territories that Russia just annexed.

According to the decree, the Russian state will be the owner of the plant.

The operator is said to be a new subsidiary of Rosenergoatom, which in turn belongs to the state-owned company Rosatom, the operator of all nuclear power plants in Russia.

According to a report in the newspaper Kommersant, the aim of the construction is to avoid sanctions against Rosatom, which is heavily involved in the export business.

Meanwhile, the New York Times, citing American intelligence sources, reports that parts of the Ukrainian government approved the assassination attempt that killed Darya Dugina, the daughter of Russian ultra-nationalist Alexandr Dugin, in August.

Kyiv officials deny any involvement in the car bomb attack near Moscow.

The report goes on to say that American officials had no prior knowledge of the plans and warned Ukrainian officials after the assassination.
