According to State Department spokesman Vedant Patel, Washington is also unaware of any discussions about the possibility of deploying nuclear weapons in Poland, they noted.

“We are not aware that this topic was raised during the negotiations.

But I can say that the US does not plan to deploy nuclear weapons on the territory of NATO member countries that joined after 1997,” he said.

The agency recalls that Poland joined NATO in 1999.

Polish President Andrzej Duda said earlier that Warsaw "always has the potential to participate in Nuclear Sharing."

According to him, Poland discussed with American leaders whether the United States is considering such a possibility.
