She was segregated, tortured and abused for almost three days by her partner, in her home in Civitavecchia, near Rome.

She wounds her upper limbs with a kitchen knife

, beaten her face and hips, forced to fulfill her requests,

tied to the bed

with duct tape and subjected to the

rubbing of a hot

pepper on her eyes.

A 36-year-old woman lived a nightmare, which began only a few days after she started

living with her partner

.

A nightmare that ended only in the late afternoon of last Saturday, when the woman took the first opportunity to

free herself and escape from home

, taking advantage of a moment in which her tormentor had gone away leaving her without a mobile phone.

She managed to run down the street and took

refuge in a nearby shop

asking for help.

The owner immediately contacted 112. The woman was rescued and taken to the emergency room of the San Paolo hospital in Civitavecchia, where the doctors found the violence.

The companion, a

39-year-old

local already known to the police, when he returned home in the night he realized that the woman had fled and was nowhere to be found.

He then used her phone to

send threatening messages via whatsapp

in an attempt to discredit the girl's story.

By the time of the dispatches, however, the woman was already in the hospital, closely watched by doctors and carabinieri, and she had no telephone with her.

Feeling hunted down, unable to find accommodation with family or friends, on Sunday morning the man showed up spontaneously at the barracks: during the search the carabinieri

found all the 'instruments of torture'

used on the woman that the perpetrator, having passed all night away from home, he had failed to hide.

The knife and the peppers used to torture her, the sheets stained with blood, biological traces in various rooms of the apartment, everything was still there, within those walls.

The brutality and gratuitous cruelty demonstrated by man and reconstructed with the investigations of the carabinieri, coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office, convinced the Judge for the preliminary investigations of Civitavecchia that

custody in prison

was the necessary measure.

The man is accused of

kidnapping, continuous and aggravated personal injuries, sexual violence

.

The woman, meanwhile, has started a rehabilitation process and is supported both economically and psychologically by one of the numerous anti-violence associations active in the area, which will help her to start over.
