Matvienko represents Russia during the G20 parliamentary summit in Indonesia.
She stressed that in the course of possible negotiations with Kyiv, the issue of four new Russian regions is excluded: the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, since this is already part of Russia.
“But we are ready to stop further hostilities, but on the terms that Russia will offer,” TASS quoted her as saying.
The speaker of the upper house of the Russian parliament believes that the parliaments of Russia and Ukraine, within the framework of the dialogue, could "create some kind of ground for this."
Earlier, Matviyenko, during a speech in Indonesia, suggested that the parliaments of Russia and Ukraine begin peace talks.
She later said that Ukrainian parliamentarians did not respond to the proposal to sit down at the negotiating table.
