The carabinieri of the Pozzuoli company intervened at the Santa Maria Delle Grazie hospital for some people hospitalized for food poisoning.

One of these is in a reserved prognosis.

These are eight people belonging to two distinct families, who allegedly ingested vegetables, probably poisonous, purchased in various shops in the municipalities of Quarto and Monte di Procida.

The symptoms found would be attributable to the "mandrake", a plant that would be confused with spinach and beets.

Investigations are underway by the local health authorities and the carabinieri.

At the moment, it is excluded that the exchange took place in a sort of black market where products cost less.

Instead, it could have been a mistake made at the beginning of the supply chain, on the wholesale market, since the product was then purchased by several buyers.
