The story of the 17-year-old Figo, who died and his family agreed to donate organs to save the lives of five patients, won first place in the category of inspiring short stories, at the activities of the International Conference “The Art of Organ Donation” in Italy, organized by the University of Messina, and a painting presented by a student won (17 years old) underwent a liver transplant at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, winning first place in the Painting and Sculpture category.

In detail, a delegation from the National Committee for Donation and Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissue represented by the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, the Abu Dhabi Health Department, the Dubai Health Authority, health facilities in organ transplantation and the concerned parties participated in the activities of the international conference “The Art of Organ Donation” in Italy, which was organized by the University of Messina. "Established 1548", in order to review the experience of the state and the transplant centers in Abu Dhabi in the fields of donation and transplantation of human organs and tissues, and the exchange of experiences and knowledge with international institutions and bodies in this regard.

The Chairman of the National Committee for Donation and Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissue, Dr. Ali Al Obaidli, said: "We continue to work to exchange experiences and the latest scientific findings in the fields of donation and transplantation of organs globally to advance the health and safety of society in the UAE and the world at large."

Al-Obaidly added: “Organ donation, whether during life or after death, saves many patients and is one of the most important radical solutions for patients with organic failure, which directly contributes to improving the quality of life and enabling patients with organic failure to return to their normal lives and participate again in building society and transforming them from patients We need to take care of producers in society.”
