This Thursday at the Porte de Versailles in Paris, the government will present its energy sobriety plan which aims to reduce by 10% by 2024 the consumption of gas and electricity of the French.

The state has demonstrated its willingness to adopt exemplary behavior through a handful of symbolic measures.

The hour of energy sobriety has come.

This Thursday, the government will unveil its plan to fight the energy crisis, which Europe 1 outlined on Wednesday.

But the French state intends to set an example and apply certain symbolic measures to itself.

In public establishments, the temperature will be limited to 18 degrees, civil servants will be encouraged to work from home.

The objective: to save heating costs by closing certain departments when the situation allows.

Through these initiatives, the State wants to sound the general mobilization and show that it is the first concerned.

A more sovereign France

Everyone must do their part according to their means and abilities, explains Elisabeth Borne.

The Prime Minister evokes the key measures to get through the winter: "they are our bulwark against more restrictive measures", she said.

The executive defends a plan which aims to make France more sovereign thanks to the reduction of dependence on Russian gas.
