If the car is an effective solution for getting around, it can also be destructive for the wallet.

In the program "Bienfait pour vous" on Europe 1, columnist Sophie Brafman draws up a list of applications to optimize mobility between one-time rental and carpooling.

6,000 euro.

According to the car rental site Ouicar, this sum would represent the annual cost of a vehicle between parking, insurance and maintenance costs but also fixed costs and fines.

A reality that is pushing more and more French people to turn to occasional car rental applications.

They make it possible to meet an immediate need for travel without having to break the bank.

At the microphone of Mélanie Gomez and Julia Vignali in

Bienfait pour vous

on Europe 1, columnist Sophie Brafman reveals some of them.

"There is the Getaround application which allows you to rent a car not far from your home. You will be able to rent independently thanks to an unlocking system via your smartphone", she explains.

A car directly below your home

The columnist also cites the Carlili application which allows its users to receive their vehicle directly at the bottom of their home.

"We sought to reinvent the car rental experience by making it simpler and more convenient. You choose the vehicle of your choice, it can be a van, a small city car or a large car. Then you select the options you want inside," says Vincent Moindrot, founder of Carlili.

Once the vehicle has been used, the service also offers to pick it up at the address indicated by the customer.

A service charged 20 euros in all and for everything.

An attractive price which is explained by the particularly high "turnover rate" in these vehicles.

"For a rental company, their car must never be empty, never parked. And since they are sufficiently rented, they manage to charge extremely competitive prices", explains Sophie Brafman.

Carpooling for short trips

For city dwellers who have an aversion to driving, the carpooling solution exists, including for reduced trips from suburb to suburb, for example.

"Citygo was created in January 2014 to overcome the difficulties of travel in the suburbs", explains Sophie Brafman.

The columnist details the mode of operation: "You will indicate the route you want to take and then the driver will fill in his usual route. Then, the application will put you in touch with a driver who is doing exactly the same route as you. or nearly".

Something to relieve your wallet and gain peace of mind.
