The two sides stressed the need to reach a just solution to it that meets all the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, on the basis of the two-state solution, which embodies the independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and in accordance with the relevant international legitimacy resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative .

According to the Oman News Agency, this came in a joint statement between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Jordan, on the occasion of the official visit of the Jordanian King to the Sultanate of Oman.

Sultan Haitham bin Tariq stressed the importance of the role of the historical Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem in protecting the holy sites and their identity, and the historical and legal situation in them.

The two leaders held in-depth discussions in a spirit of brotherhood, emphasizing their keenness to continue developing bilateral cooperation in various fields, in a manner that serves the common interests of the two countries, as well as intensifying communication and exchanging visits between the various concerned authorities in the two countries, in order to explore and follow up more opportunities for cooperation and push them to new horizons. larger and more comprehensive.

The two sides discussed a number of issues and developments on the regional and international arenas, and stressed the importance of strengthening the process of cooperation and economic integration between the Arab countries, and expressed the importance of cooperation and coordination between their countries in regional and international organizations and forums, to serve their interests, and contribute to strengthening joint Arab action, and the pillars of security, peace and stability. In the region and the world, emphasizing the prominent and constructive role that countries play in this regard.

The two sides expressed their countries' commitment to the principles and objectives of the United Nations Charter and international law, and affirmed their determination to enhance opportunities for joint investment in various fields, to develop economic relations by organizing and diversifying relevant events, intensifying the exchange of trade delegations, strengthening communication and partnership at the level of the private sector, and promoting exchange commercial and diversified.

Yesterday, the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Jordan signed seven memoranda of understanding and two executive programs, as part of the official visit of King Abdullah II to the Sultanate.

According to the Oman News Agency, the memoranda of understanding and executive programs were signed by Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the Jordanian side, Ayman Al-Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs.

The memoranda of understanding included in the field of industrial cooperation, competition protection, antitrust, mining, mutual interests, investment in human capital, historical documentation, document management, archives, conferences and exhibitions, the insurance sector, and consumer protection.

The executive programs included the signing of an executive program in the field of higher education, scientific research and innovation for the years 2023-2024-2025, and an executive program for a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation for the years 2023-2026.
