Commenting on media reports and Telegram channels about the allegedly planned appeal to the nation, Peskov said: "No, it's not."

He recalled that this is "entirely and completely the prerogative of the supreme commander in chief, the president of the country."

“To date, no such decisions have been made, we are talking about a special military operation that continues,” Peskov said.

Earlier, the Kremlin has already noted that the decision on the possible reformatting of a special military operation in Ukraine into a counter-terrorist one can only be taken by the president.

At the end of August, State Duma deputy Mikhail Sheremet proposed to give the special military operation in Ukraine the status of a counter-terrorist one.
