Kuwait forms a new government and appoints a new oil minister

Today, Wednesday, Kuwait announced a new government, which included the appointment of Hussein Ismail as Minister of Oil to succeed Muhammad Al-Faris, and the reappointment of Abdul Wahab Al-Rasheed as Minister of Finance.

Kuwait also appointed a new defense minister, Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Salem Al-Sabah, according to a decree broadcast by state media.

The outgoing government had resigned following parliamentary elections held last month in the Gulf state, a member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries.
