A fast against "the renewal of the Italy-Libya Memorandum, which Parliament is called to renew on November 2".

This is the protest launched by Father Alex Zanotelli in a sit-in organized in Piazza SS.

Apostoli, in Rome.

The missionary's appeal is addressed to parliamentarians: "A criminal agreement guilty of so many deaths in Libya and in the Mediterranean. We appeal to the conscience of you politicians to repudiate this agreement so as not to stain yourselves with the blood of so many innocent and impoverished people".

'' We strongly protest because we have again been denied permission to place ourselves in front of the Italian Parliament to underline the political dimension of those who, that day, fast in their homes or monasteries, or in the squares of various cities '', says Zanotelli .

Through his protest, the Comboni missionary wants to bring to mind the terrible and shameful shipwreck of 3 October 2013, when 368 refugees lost their lives off the coast of Lampedusa.

"That day Europe definitively lost its innocence. Today the Mediterranean has become the cemetery of over 50,000 refugees. It is the shipwreck of a Europe of rights".
