This Tuesday, a serious work accident occurred in the wine cooperative of Saint-Pierre-d'Aurillac, in the South-Gironde.
A 28-year-old farm worker was seriously injured while on the job and had to undergo surgery on the spot.
“He was cleaning a machine and slipped, I think.
They brought in a doctor by helicopter and then a second with an orthopedic surgeon who was sent on site to operate on him,”
the Gironde gendarmerie told
20 Minutes .
The young man found himself stuck in the machine so that he was not transportable.
After the operation on the site, which lasted a good part of the day, he was transported to the Bordeaux University Hospital in the evening.
The investigations of the gendarmerie and the Labor Inspectorate will have to shed light on the circumstances of the accident.
