It is the portrait of an extraordinary woman.

At 92, Marie-José Tubiana, a retired French ethnologist, still uses her immense knowledge to help refugees from Darfur, the region in western Sudan where civil war and genocide have caused, over the past twenty years, more than 300,000 dead and 3 million displaced.

Winner of the National Documentary Grand Prize at Fipadoc 2022 in Biarritz, “La combatante”, very carefully directed by Camille Ponsin, is released this Wednesday, October 5 in theaters in France.
