“The Danish authorities take a nasty and illegal position in connection with the explosions on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines,” Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel.

According to her, Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod ordered his representatives in New York not to participate in a special meeting of the UN Security Council convened by Russia on September 30.

She noted that Kofod accused Russia of spreading "false information about the alleged involvement of the West in undermining gas pipelines."

Zakharova added that the Russian side cited only facts that indicate the interest of a number of foreign powers in the destruction of gas pipelines.

As Attorney General Igor Krasnov said earlier at a meeting with Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Western countries did not hide their intentions to destroy the Nord Streams, and ultimately blame Russia for this.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak noted that Poland, the United States and Ukraine could be interested in accidents at the Nord Stream gas pipelines.
