Good evening,

somehow such a holiday always confuses you.

Don't you agree?

Just a reminder: It's Tuesday evening.

Not Monday evening.

And we are already officially in autumn, no longer in summer.

Only if you have doubts about the mild temperatures.

Read here what else is moving the Rhine-Main area apart from the weather conditions:

Military aid:

There is still no official confirmation from the US armed forces.

However, several US media reported a few days ago that the US Department of Defense intends to make the Army base in Wiesbaden the center of its military aid to Ukraine.

All support for the Ukrainian military is to be concentrated in the clay barracks in the Erbenheim district.

In addition to training Ukrainian soldiers, it is also about supplying weapons and equipment.

The goal should also be better dovetailing with the efforts of NATO allies.

Our author Peter Badenhop summarizes the situation and explains what these plan changes mean for the region in the long term.

The pilot was not alone in the plane:

one day after the crash of a Cessna 206 in a forest area near the Michelstadt district of Vielbrunn, in which the 66-year-old pilot could only be rescued dead from the wreck, the police managed to get the minutes before to reconstruct the crash.

According to new findings, the pilot did not start alone.

He had six parachutists on board.

According to the investigators, shortly after the regularly scheduled jump of the passengers, a technical defect occurred that led to the crash of the plane.

A medical emergency that could have led to loss of control and a crash has so far been ruled out.

According to prosecutors, an autopsy of the body has not been ordered.

Acquitted in infanticide trial:

According to the assessment of the presiding judge Susanne Wetzel in the trial of the infanticide in a sect in Hanau, there is no doubt about the "moral responsibility".

But probably because of the guilt of the 61-year-old accused.

She was accused of putting a cloth bag over her four-year-old son's head and tying it up in 1988.

The child choked on his vomit.

However, because it was not possible to clarify at the hearing before the Frankfurt district court whether the accused is actually the perpetrator, the hearing ended on Tuesday with an acquittal.

As early as 2020, the sixty-one-year-old was convicted of murdering her son before the Hanau district court, but she appealed.

The Federal Court of Justice then ordered a new trial before the district court in Frankfurt.

Our author Jan Schiefenhövel was present at the verdict.

In his text, he writes that the judge sharply criticized the public prosecutor who was investigating at the time and their behavior during the main hearing.

The principle "in dubio pro reo - in case of doubt for the accused" was not adhered to.
