The rent may rise by 10 percent for residents of Varmland in tenements

During the week, negotiations will begin between the Tenants' Association and the property owners.

From the latter, they see rent increases of 10 percent as reasonable.

Rikard Ljunggren, CEO of Fastighetsägarna, says that tenants are more spared than villa owners.

- If you compare with home owners where many have very high electricity bills and mortgages, a 10 percent increase is not that much, he says.

Emelie Lindström believes that the property owners should have an understanding of the special prevailing situation.

- We are in an extreme situation where everything has become much more expensive in a short time.

Therefore, it is not time to raise the rents by 10 percent, she says.
