Shoigu: during the days of the referendums, seven aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 109 rockets were shot down

“Thanks to the measures taken, hundreds of lives were saved and referenda were held,” he said.

Earlier, Moscow vetoed a draft UN Security Council resolution not recognizing the results of referendums in the four regions that joined Russia.

Putin said that the residents of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions made an unambiguous choice to join Russia during the referenda.
