“Many people in the east of the republic seem to look at Russia differently than most people in the west of the country ... Cars with Ukrainian license plates are scratched, often carved with the letter Z,” Richter said.
According to him, the inhabitants of eastern Germany do not support the sanctions imposed against Russia.
Earlier in the German city of Zwickau, a rally was held against anti-Russian sanctions.
