Anders Berg lives outside Norrtälje in a poorly insulated house from the 70s.

As a single person with two children, he is worried about how the economy will fare if the prices of both electricity and firewood continue to rise.

- I am afraid that the electricity price could be upwards of fifteen thousand kroner a month this winter.

I depend on being able to light a fire, says Anders Berg, who has stopped using both tumble dryers and underfloor heating.

Many are looking for firewood

In recent weeks, the word "firewood" has been one of the most searched for on the Blocket marketplace, and many groups have been created in social media for people who want to buy firewood.

- I depend on wood to be able to heat my house.

It's hard to get hold of firewood now and I've really had to hunt around, he says.

The war in Ukraine stops firewood for Sweden

The reason for the wood shortage is both the high electricity prices but also Russia's war against Ukraine, which stops imports.

Much of the wood sold in Sweden originally comes from Russia and is cut and split in the Baltics before being exported to Sweden.
