The newborn found by a farmer in a plastic bag, along a country road in Paceco, in the Trapani area, near an elementary school, is alive by chance.

He was rescued by the carabinieri of Trapani who, alerted by a phone call, sent a patrol to the scene.

The baby was alive.

Alerted on 118, he was transported to the hospital where he is not in danger of life.

The baby had been left on a private country road.

He was found by the owner of the area, who was going to work his land and then called the carabinieri.

The area is not busy and the discovery was completely accidental.

The newborn, whose umbilical cord was cut, was in an open plastic bag.

The placenta was still in the bag, which suggests that the mother gave birth at home.

The carabinieri and doctors wanted to call him Francesco after the carabiniere who first picked him up, taking into account that today he is also San Francesco.

He investigates to trace his mother also by viewing the cameras in the area.
