A man was arrested on Saturday in Le Havre (Seine-Maritime) for threatening a homeless man with a machete.

The scene took place in broad daylight under the eyes of police on patrol in the neighborhood, says 76Actu.

Officers caught the man chasing a homeless man through the streets.

The specialized field brigade decided to intercept it.

To force him to drop his machete, the police took out their service weapon.

The suspect agreed to get rid of it.

He had consumed alcohol

During his arrest, the man was thoroughly searched.

A kitchen knife was found on him.

He then underwent a blood alcohol test which turned out to be positive.

According to our colleagues, the result was 0.64 mg per liter of exhaled air, or about 1.28 g in the blood.
