As the "technical trader" of the world's fastest automated terminal, Zhang Liangang led his team to break the world record for the loading and unloading efficiency of automated terminals nine times, and continued to maintain the leading position in the global automated terminal. Zhang Liangang believes that as the highest form of the current port format , Automated terminals are the only way to build smart ports.

To build a modern port, it is necessary to build an automated terminal.

In 2013, Qingdao Port decided to build a fully automated container terminal. At that time, Zhang Liangang, who was recovering from lung cancer surgery, was ordered to lead the team on the road of independent innovation.

In the simple container house by the sea, Zhang Liangang led the team to carry out scientific research day and night, and promote the construction of an automated terminal that integrates advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.

On the road of innovation of automated terminals, Zhang Liangang runs around the construction sites of civil engineering, power supply, information system and other construction sites during the day to check the progress and solve problems, and lead meetings in the evening to engage in scientific research.

According to a rough estimate, during that time, the team organized more than 3,000 seminars, large and small, and the equipment and systems had undergone hundreds of thousands of tests.

Within ten years, Zhang Liangang's team has solved a series of technical problems, built a set of technical standards, and built a fully automated terminal and a 5G smart terminal with independent intellectual property rights, which has become a successful case of industrial Internet application in port scenarios.

As a result, automated terminals in China have achieved a leap from "no" to "yes" to "record breaking".

Zhang Liangang has also fulfilled his original promise: "relying on independent innovation to build China's own automated terminal", he is also known as the "door pusher" of China's smart terminals.

Zhang Liangang said that we built this terminal with our own wisdom and efforts of the Chinese people, which gave us a firm confidence in the whole port of China.
