After the proclamation of the results of the four referendums organized in Ukraine by Russia, the Ukrainians do not want to let go of the pressure not to fix possible borders.

In Lyman, Donetsk, Luhansk, kyiv progresses and puts the Russian forces in difficulty.

Counter-attacking, regaining ground to make the Russian annexations fictitious… Since Vladimir Putin's show on Friday in Moscow, Ukrainian troops have continued to advance in the Donbass.

For Russia, these military advances are weakening the situation of the areas conquered since the February invasion and, by extension, those of the annexed territories.

Strong Ukrainian pressure

The city of Lyman, taken over by the armies of kyiv this weekend, is an important railway junction in the Donetsk region.

Its loss will lead to supply difficulties for the Russian armies and will probably cause them to retreat further.

This will therefore allow the Ukrainians to put greater pressure on the officially annexed separatist regions and pose this dilemma to the Kremlin: how to endorse by a border on the ground and by the illusion of a calm life in Russia the administrative announcements, when a front is not held and the incessant bombardments.

What is valid for Donetsk and Luhansk is also valid for Zaporizhia and Kherson.

A problem recognized by the Kremlin, which raises the question of annexing only the conquered parts or all of the two regions.

According to US estimates, Moscow controls only 72% of Zaporizhia and around 88% of Kherson.

That is to say that the tens of thousands of recruits from the partial mobilization are eagerly awaited by Russian officers on the various fronts to endorse the triumphant announcements of last Friday.
