In the past week, a series of shootings and explosions in Stockholm County have also affected people who are not part of criminal networks.

In Hallonbergen in Sundbyberg, an SL bus with about ten passengers was fired upon, a children's disco was fired upon in Södertälje where children and leisure leaders were when the shots went through the windows of the venue.

The explosions on Södermalm in central Stockholm and in Solna have destroyed apartments and the safety of many.

According to the authority, only 1 in 4 apply

Even if someone cannot be prosecuted for the crimes, there is compensation to be sought.

- We receive around 10,000 applications per year (all crime types seen for the entire country, editor's note).

At the same time, we know that there are around four times as many crimes reported to the police.

Not everything is compensable, but we are very clear on that there are many people who can get compensation but who don't, says Magnus Öhrn, head of the criminal damage unit at the Crime Victims' Authority.
